Each generation needs a war, or a Woodstock, to remind us of what it is to be human, the magic of people power and the rewards of finding the courage to step up for humanity. Our Woodstock was the Freedom Village at New Zealand’s Parliament grounds in Wellington for twenty- three days starting 8 February 2022.
We came from all parts of New Zealand, from all walks of life, drawn by a sense that this was too important to miss.
This is the complete story with input from many who describe their experiences. All backed up by official information requests, the prime ministers whatsapp messages and much more making this a historic record of this divisive event that led to the downfall of Jacinda Ardern. The event came to a violent end as 600 riot police attacked the people they were supposed to protect on the orders of the prime minister. 100,000 words and 80 photos make this big book.
