Description
How To Hunt Sika Deer was the original book published in 1988 detailing all the habits of sika deer which at that time was a species little hunted and little known. They had quite different habits to red deer and the author( a full time guide) at the time had made an exhaustive study of these animals. He coined much of the terminology used by hunters now. Alan has updated a lot of the book to include new information while leaving a lot of the old information intact but updated. After this book was published and 5000 print copies were sold sika deer hunting became very popular and nowadays is a major hunting attraction for hunters all over NZ and the world.
With sika deer now being given a special status by government HOSI (Herd of special interest), hunters can learn about this elusive and exciting species.
